Lampshade shade mica has been manufactured for centuries by combining mica flakes with organic shellac binder under pressure for a period of time. Each sheet produce is unique with its own variations from mineral deposit patterns too color tones making it perfect for inserts in a lamp, sconce, or wrought iron chandelier.
Lampshade shade mica maybe shape when evenly heating to approximately 100 to 140C degrees for a couple of minute and then gently molded over a form until cool. Once sheet has cooled it will recover its firmness and maintain the desired shape. You may also easily cut with heavy sheers, a band saw or scroll saw to reach a desired size.
